About this Event
Legacy of Black Genius: Underground Renaissance 1920's and 1930's is an in-person cultural experience for the local community.
Underground Renaissance — We’re Back 2026!
Step back into the 1920s and 1930s and explore the brilliance, creativity, and achievements of Black pioneers during an influential period in American history. This immersive, educational, and entertaining experience brings Black history to life through theatrical performances, historical character portrayals, live music, jazz, spoken-word poetry, storytelling, vintage fashion, and interactive experiences.
Travel through the Harlem Renaissance and beyond as we explore the lives of Black entrepreneurs, inventors, business leaders, artists, intellectuals, and community builders whose contributions helped shape society. Performers portray historical figures, sharing their stories, struggles, accomplishments, and lasting influence in a living experience rather than a traditional history presentation.
Celebrate Black entrepreneurship, creativity, community empowerment, and the importance of preserving cultural heritage for future generations. Guests are encouraged to dress in elegant 1920s–1930s fashion and enjoy an evening of education, entertainment, networking, and cultural appreciation.
More than an event, Underground Renaissance is a journey through history, a celebration of Black excellence, and an opportunity to inspire the next generation of greatness. Join Legacy of Black Genius to honor those who came before us, celebrate the brilliance within our communities, and continue building a legacy for generations to come.
