🧠 Lecture: "Falling for Gravity: Dancing Through Spacetime"
🎤 Speaker: Astrophysicist, Dr. Jay White
Join us for a captivating evening as astrophysicist Dr. Jay White guides us through the strange, beautiful story of gravity—the weakest force in nature that nevertheless holds everything together. From James Brown’s soulful lament that “G R A V I T Y” keeps pulling him back, to Aristotle’s belief that heavy things belong below, to Newton’s apple and the orbiting Moon, and finally to Einstein’s radical vision of gravity as the very shape of spacetime, this talk traces 2,500 years of humanity wrestling with the force that steers galaxies and shapes the fate of the universe.
Dr. White is the Founding Director of the Talcott Mountain Research Institute and Resident Lecturer for Lectures on Tap in Manhattan. Blending science, storytelling, and metaphors drawn from music, math, and cooking, he’ll show how the cosmic choreography of gravity includes all of us—not as distant spectators, but as active participants in a vast, shared universe.
