🧠 Lecture: "How Experiences Rewire the Brain"
🎤 Speaker: Shon Koren
Join us for a fascinating evening as neuroscientist Shon Koren reveals how life’s experiences literally reshape the brain. From before we are born through adulthood, our neurons are constantly building and refining the circuits that allow us to see, learn, and adapt to a changing world.
Shon will explain how the brain prepares a visual system even before we open our eyes, and how experience fine-tunes that system over time. He will explore how cutting-edge techniques let scientists trace how sights and sounds are translated into molecular changes inside neurons, down to how our DNA is packaged and read.
You’ll hear how early-life experiences can leave lasting molecular “marks” that alter brain wiring, how these same mechanisms may contribute to aging and neurodegeneration, and what this means for understanding conditions like Alzheimer’s disease.
Don’t miss this chance to see how invisible molecular events shape everything we experience—and how your own life story is written into your brain.
