Free Drop-In • Registration Encouraged
Discover the colourful, textural world of gelli‑plate printing in this hands-on demo at Pacific Arts Market. Whether you’re brand new to printmaking or already love mixed media, this session is a fun, approachable way to explore layered mono-print techniques.
Gelli‑plates have a soft, jelly-like surface that captures incredible detail. With just acrylic paint, stencils, mark‑making tools, and even botanicals, you can pull prints that reveal textures, shapes, and surprising patterns. Each thin layer of paint records everything placed on the plate — from text and tool marks to flower petals — and masks allow previous layers to peek through beautifully.
This process can be fast and playful for creating backgrounds and collage papers, or slow and intentional for designing a single layered mono-print or image transfer in one pull. It’s a wonderfully flexible technique that invites experimentation.
Drop in anytime between 11am and 1pm — it’s completely free.
If you’d like to register in advance so we know to expect you, we’d love that too.
Coffee and treats will be provided by the Gallery for those who attend
Come watch, learn, ask questions, and get inspired by the magic of gelli‑plate printing.
