teamLab's works—from wall-mounted pieces to vast, immersive installations—have become some of the most widely shared, most photographed art in the world. In this talk, Laura Lee considers what this body of work suggests about where contemporary art and visual culture are headed: how digital technologies are reshaping the relationship between viewer, image, and space, and how sensory experience is entangled with participatory, image-driven culture. Drawing on art history, media studies, and digital culture, her talk asks what teamLab's popularity, and the artworks’ particular ways of being seen, shared, and inhabited, might reveal about the moment we're in. A moderated discussion and audience Q&A will follow.
