Following on from the success of the first launch events introducing PDCs plays for the season, we are pleased to announce the next one, showcasing our April and May 2027 plays. Whether you’re interested in auditioning, joining the crew, helping backstage, or simply finding out more about what’s coming up, the evening is for you.
Come along and hear directly from the directors as they talk about the plays, their vision for bringing them to the stage, the settings and characters, and the many opportunities to get involved both on and off stage. You’ll also find out about reading and rehearsal dates, casting requirements, crew opportunities and much more — so there really is something for everyone.
We’d love to see as many members and prospective members there as possible as we continue our exciting new season together. Directors Jacqueline Rhodes, Rachael Fraser-Bourne, and Tara Kennedy are delighted to invite you to their launch event, where they’ll be revealing all about:
BLUE STOCKINGS (14 –17 April)
Directed by Jacqueline Rhodes & Rachael Fraser-Bourne
We are delighted to be bringing Jessica Swale's Blue Stockings to the stage. Set in 1890s Cambridge University, it follows a group of female students, their male counterparts, and academic staff as they fight for women’s right to earn full degrees alongside men, as beliefs about women’s education divide them. It's full of heart, humour, and hope, while also exploring coming of age, romantic entanglements, and the cost of standing up for what is right. It features an ensemble cast with great roles for all ages, so we look forward to seeing you at the readings/auditions!
and…
BLITHE SPIRIT (26–29 May)
Directed by Tara Kennedy
I am so excited to be directing Noël Coward’s classic, energetic, and dark comedy and have exciting plans! It requires a cast of seven of mixed ages and genders, and also there’s lots of opportunities to get involved behind the scenes. I hope that if you join the cast or crew for my PDC directorial debut, there’ll be a lot fun had during rehearsals as well as on stage. Come along and find out more!
It will be a relaxed and friendly evening packed with behind-the-scenes insights, creative ideas, and plenty of opportunities to get involved. So, whether you’re drawn to the stage, the tech desk, backstage magic, or helping bring the whole production to life, there’s a place for you in either of these fantastic productions.
Curious? Tempted? Or simply fancy a great evening in the company of fellow theatre lovers? Come along, meet the team, and discover how you can become part of the story. We’d love to see you there!
