Hola and welcome to MAK Language-and culture cafe in Århus! 👐Do you want to practice Spanish or Danish, while meeting new people?
- Then this is the place for you! Our language- and culture cafe is about more than just grammar and words - it's about sharing stories, laughter and experiences across cultures.
Grab a beer or a soda from the bar, make yourself comfortable and get ready for an evening full of language, music and conversations
The event take place in the heart of Århus at Café Mellemfolk and it's free of charge, so don’t hesitate to come by as you are - whether you’ve just started learning or speak fluently.
We’ve taken the speed dating concept and turned it into a language game, so instead of looking for your soulmate, you’ll be improving your new language while making friends. For the first part of the speed dating you will be practicing Spanish and afterwards we will switch to Danish.
→ For this Language Café we will talk about día de los Muertos 💀🌹
This is a holiday celebrated primarily in Mexico, but has roots in indigenous traditions dating back to the aztec empire. We will talk about rituals, symbols and personal experiences with celebrating this holiday, as well as engage in some creative activities while practicing languages.
We are all committed to maintaining the language- and culture cafe a safe space where everyone is welcome; free from all kinds of discrimination. We actively work to create a respectful and inclusive environment, where we fight and promote diversity and learning.
Join our community to improve your language skills, meet people from different cultures and be part of a growing community!
¡Hasta pronto! Vi ses snart!

What is MAK (Mellemamerika Komiteen)
----------------------------------------
The Central America Committee (MAK) is an NGO-solidarity organization. We want to create an active solidarity community with the people from Central America: therefore, we actively support the struggle for social justice, self-determination, and human rights.
We prioritize collaborating directly with political and popular movements. For the past 45 years, we have worked with farmers' movements, trade unions, women's organizations, and youth organizations, all working to strengthen the social and political conditions of the poor majority.
