About this Event
Interested in showing your beautiful camellia blooms in our upcoming show?
The Lakeland Camellia Society will hold its November meeting on Tuesday, November 10, at 6:45 PM at the Central Florida Baptist Association Building (2120 Sylvester Rd, Lakeland).
Our meetings are free, friendly, and open to all skill levels. Come learn camellia culture, seasonal care tips for Florida gardens, get answers to your plant care questions, and connect with other central Florida gardeners.
The November program will be on Gibbing for Bigger Blooms and Preparing Blooms for Competition. Gibberellic Acid is a hormone which stimulates bloom growth, resulting earlier and larger blooms. Brian Dick will present information on the method and timing used to have your blooms look their best for showtime. Our Show Chair, Sandra Wyche, will share best practices for preparing your blooms and show cards for competition and what to expect when you participate in or visit a show.
Light refreshments will be served. All are welcome, so bring a friend!
