Date and time: Sun, 3 MAY 2026 08:30 - 13:30 BST

Where are we going :

We will be doing the Silvertown Coast.

Where will we start from:

Catford : The route starts at the car park, entrance of Laurence House, SE6 4RU at 8am, which is on Canadian Avenue. Please cancel your ticket in advance, if you are unable to attend.

The Route:

We will cycle from Catford to Greenwich, riding to the Shuttle Bus to Silvertown/Custom House. Or for a longer ride to Woolwich Ferry and cross to the North Pier. Cycle to Silvertown/Royal Docks/Seagull Lane and ride to Trinity Buoy Wharf and Bow Creek Ecology Park. We will take a Tea/Coffee break here. We should be up for a ride along the Northside of the river, passing close to Poplar/Canary Wharf, Shadwell to Wapping Spirit Quay and Hermitage Basin, St Katherine's Docks, before crossing over Tower Bridge. On the other side of the Bridge we might take a short break at Potters Fields, before heading back. IF ANYONE IS GOING TO LONDON BRIDGE STATION, WE CAN TAKE YOU TO THE STATION. (PLEASE LET ME KNOW BEFORE TOWER BRIDGE).

We are also taking part in Lon to Brighton this year, (so we have extended this prep ride). & If you want to use the shuttle, we have a ride coming up at the end of May. Be sure to book your place when it is published. Then we head back via Southwark Park, Millwall Den Pathway and Deptford, go through Brookmill Park/Ravensbourne River, along the waterway and Ladywell to Catford.

Who are we:

We ride as a group of people, mainly from a African and African Caribbean background and as cyclists we ride together regularly, often with a structured schedule and we have varying levels of abilities.

We aim to start when the weather is improving this could be as early as January or February. But sometimes it could be as late as March/April, with easier local rides to start the year off, and we increase the distance and go further afield, until November or December (if we are really lucky), and we have been riding together since November 2020.

Who is the ride for:

The ride is for adults only and we have a mixed ability within the group. We welcome new riders. On some of our rides, there is likely to be at least one hill, but we try to avoid them where possible. We will wait, if you can't make it all the way to the top without stopping and we are a supportive group. You can sign up for rides when they are published. However, if you wish to join Kweens and Kings Cycling Network, you will need to complete a registration form before you can be added to the WhatsApp group, and complete at least 6 rides over the course of the year to remain as a member.

What should you bring:

Your bike and helmet, appropriate attire for riding and weather conditions, and a smile.

We ride as a group, but please cycle carefully, and abide by the rules of the road. Your safety will be at your own discretion.

Please come prepared with inflatable tyre and/or pump.

Light fruits/snacks and water according to your preference. A travel card/cash.
