Sometimes life doesn’t ask permission.
You had a plan.
A good plan.
Maybe even a perfect plan.
And then…
Something happened.
The flight was cancelled.
The relationship ended.
You got the job you weren’t expecting.
You moved to a city you’d never heard of.
Someone said yes.
Someone said no.
You missed the train.
You met a stranger.
You took the wrong turn.
You changed your mind.
Or life changed it for you.
And suddenly…
**there was a change of plans.**

This time, Krakow Story Slam is about more than sharing our stories.
**We’re coming together to help make a child’s dream come true.**
🎟️ **Entrance: 20 PLN**
**100% of every ticket sold will be donated to Fundacja Mam Marzenie and dedicated to helping fulfill the dream of one of their Dreamers.**
And it doesn't stop with the ticket.
If you'd like to contribute more on the night, **100% of all additional donations will also go toward helping make this Dreamer's dream a reality.**
No portion of the ticket proceeds will go to Krakow Story Slam.

💫 **WHO IS FUNDACJA MAM MARZENIE?**
Fundacja Mam Marzenie is a Polish foundation dedicated to fulfilling the dreams of children facing serious, life-threatening illnesses.
For these children, a dream can mean much more than receiving a gift.
It can give them something wonderful to look forward to.
A reason to get excited.
A moment when hospital visits, treatments and difficult days can take a back seat to something magical.
A dream might be meeting someone they admire.
Going somewhere they've always wanted to visit.
Receiving something they've dreamed about.
Or experiencing a moment they and their family will remember forever.
For one evening, our little storytelling community in Kraków gets to become part of that.

🔀 **THE THEME: A CHANGE OF PLANS**
Tell us about a time when life went completely off-script.
Maybe you planned the perfect vacation — and everything went wrong.
Maybe you thought you knew exactly who you were going to marry.
Maybe you moved somewhere “just for six months”… and somehow you're still there years later.
Maybe you chose one career and ended up doing something completely different.
Maybe one phone call changed your entire future.
Maybe you said yes to something you normally would have refused.
Or maybe your carefully constructed Plan A collapsed…
and Plan B turned out to be the best thing that ever happened to you.
Your story can be hilarious.
Embarrassing.
Heartbreaking.
Romantic.
Ridiculous.
Unexpected.
Or all of those at once.
Because sometimes the best stories begin when the plan ends.
🎤 **WHAT IS KRAKOW STORY SLAM?**
Krakow Story Slam is a live storytelling night where ordinary people take the stage and tell extraordinary **true stories from their own lives.**
No PowerPoint.
No scripts.
No TED Talks.
Just a microphone, an audience, and a story.
Each storyteller gets **5–7 minutes** to tell one true personal story connected to the evening's theme:
**A CHANGE OF PLANS**
Your story must be:
✅ A true personal story — something that actually happened to you
✅ Told live from memory — no reading
✅ Between 5–7 minutes long
✅ Clearly connected to the theme
✅ A complete story with a beginning, middle, and end
This is not a speech.
This is not a presentation.
This is not a lesson.
**This is a story.**
A moment when something changed.
A moment when the plan disappeared.
A moment when you had absolutely no idea what was going to happen next.
🏆 **HOW THE NIGHT WORKS**
Storytellers take the stage and share their stories.
The audience listens.
We laugh.
Sometimes we cry.
Sometimes we wonder how this person is still alive.
And at the end of the evening, one storyteller will be chosen for:

DO:
✨ Tell a real story from your life
✨ Take us into one specific moment
✨ Give us the details
✨ Make us laugh, cry, cringe, or feel something
✨ Tell us what you thought was going to happen — and what actually happened
✨ Be honest
✨ Be human
DON'T:
❌ Read from notes or a script
❌ Give a lecture or motivational speech
❌ Tell someone else's story
❌ Spend seven minutes giving us advice
❌ Tell a story that doesn't connect to the theme
And remember:
The change of plans doesn't have to be enormous.
It could be the date that went completely wrong.
The missed flight that led to an adventure.
The party you almost didn't attend.
The person you weren't supposed to meet.
The country you weren't supposed to live in.
The job you weren't supposed to take.
The breakup that changed everything.
The mistake that somehow worked out.
Sometimes one tiny change sends your entire life in another direction.
