Kindred is a series of guided day-hike retreats on the Fleurieu Peninsula, South Australia. D E S T I N A T I O N: From Maslins Beach to McLaren Vale.
D I S T A N C E: 12.5kms with 254m elevation gain.
D U R A T I O N: 6hours (7am - 1pm)
D E S C R I P T I O N: After meeting in McLaren Vale and getting bussed to our starting point of Maslin’s Beach, we will then walk North Along the Beach, then pass through a mix of coastal trails, through the scrub, then along bike tracks through vineyards to McLaren Vale. This walk is moderate
L E S S O N: Our Third Lesson today is on emergency basics, risk assessment and decision making. What to do if you lose the trail or get turned around, How to assess a situation (weather, group energy, terrain), Staying calm under pressure with grounding techniques, emergency equipment and comms, trip intentions documents, how to call for help, Safe solo walking - boundaries & check-ins.
