Join us Friday, Oct. 2 at 7 p.m. for an evening of art, poetry and conversation as poets Quraysh Ali Lansana and Ken Hada walk through Killing the Negative: A Conversation in Art & Verse.Admission is free for all ages.
Inspired by rejected Great Depression-era photographs from the Farm Security Administration, the exhibition pairs Joel Daniel Phillips’ large-scale drawings with ekphrastic poetry to explore representation, truth and power.
During the gallery walk, Lansana and Hada will share insights about the exhibition and read a selection of poems inspired by the artwork.
