Comedy legend Kevin McDonald is teaching one of his most requested workshops: “Improv To Sketch.” In this workshop, Kevin will teach the students the Kids In The Hall method of turning improv scenes into sketch comedy. You’ll be engaged in exercises that lead you naturally into thinking about writing and performing at the same time. Kevin then runs small groups of students through improv scenes and guides each group through the process of turning those scenes into developed comedy sketches.
Also, if you ask him nicely, Kevin will tell lots of stories about the Kids In The Hall (actually, he’ll probably tell those stories anyway…whether you ask him or not.)
No prior improv or sketch writing experience is required. All you need is something to take notes with…and a desire to learn and have fun!
The workshop runs from 12:00pm until 4:00pm, on Saturday, September 26th. The cost of the workshop is $150 (plus service fee.) All payments must be received by the final deadline, in order to be considered registered for this course. Final deadline for registration is Thursday, September 24th.
