Award-winning Broadway actor Ken Jennings, who originated the role of Tobias in Sweeney Todd and received a Drama Desk Award for his performance, brings The Gospel of John to life in a powerful one-man performance.
The acclaimed production presents the Gospel of John in an intimate 90-minute theatrical experience, told through the words and perspective of the Beloved Disciple. Jennings’ performance was nominated for Best Solo Performance by the Off-Broadway Alliance.
After turning to the Gospel of John as a form of prayer, Jennings memorized the 21 chapters. What began as a personal spiritual practice eventually evolved into this theatrical production.
