Judging art is dumb, but competitions are fun, so we're cooking up an anti-slam centring Kaos!
About this Event
Kaos Slam - Poetry Competition and Fundraiser for Al-Awda Hospital Featuring Boulos Shakkour
Welcome to Kaos Slam, a new event by former organizers from Berlin Spoken Word.
A poetry competition like you've never seen.
Judging art is bullshit, but competitions are fun, so we're cooking up an anti-slam aimed at causing chaos.
Five poets, six eliminations, lucky dip prizes of varying value, a featured performer guaranteed to tear the roof off the sucker, and a gamut of tiebreakers so tenuous that the scores will be taken as seriously as we take gender. Expect politics, jokes, tragedy, and KAOS.
Wanna be there from the beginning? Our inaugural event will be held at Karakas on 7 October 2026.

Boulos Shakkour is Palestinian writer from Jerusalem. Based in Berlin for the past 3 years, he writes mostly about his personal relationship with Palestine and about the many different ways the occupation controls Palestinian life. Through his writing, Boulos hopes people understand the pain and depth of the reality from which Palestinians are suffering. He considers himself among the more privileged of Palestinians, so he does his best to use his voice to speak for the voiceless.
