The Korean Cultural Center Washington, D.C. invites you to join a special conversation with Sang Young Park, one of the prominent voices in contemporary Korean literature.
Best known for his novel Love in the Big City, Park has explored love and relationships, loneliness and desire, and various aspects of contemporary life through his candid and nuanced writing. In this program, we will look beyond Love in the Big City to explore his broader body of work and creative journey.
The conversation will also feature a passage personally selected by the author, giving participants an opportunity to read and reflect on his work and share their thoughts with the author. We will also discuss his recent creative activities and his new novel, The Woman Wearing a Straw Crown, published in July 2026.
Open to anyone interested in Korean literature, this program offers an opportunity to explore love and relationships, human life, and society through contemporary Korean literature while engaging directly with the author.
