What has become of the English working class in the twenty-first century?'' After Thatcher's war against the unions and forty + years of neoliberalism, pursued alike by the Tory & Labour parties, the matter of class had all but disappeared from political discussion. In The Breaking of the English Working Class. Jonas Patrick Marvin boldly and brilliantly re-asserts its centrality and offers what one reviewer has described as a 'breathtaking phenomenology of class life in twenty-first century Britain.' (Richard Seymour).
We would be delighted if you could join us for what will certainly be a provocative and intriguing discussion with Jonas Patrick Marvin.
