After tragedy grounded The Dingoes just as they were set to tour with Lynyrd Skynyrd, John Bois could have walked away from music forever. Instead, he became a biology teacher who never stopped writing songs—and never stopped believing in the power of a good story.
John Bois and His Emotional Support Band emerged from the Florida festival scene like a phoenix, gathering some of the state's finest musicians around campfires and stages. Featuring bass master Donald Farr, Hannah's Whirl veterans Tami Wingard and Paul Arnone, Passerine's Sara Stovall on fiddle, and jazz guitarist Bart Hanchey of the Jazz Librarians, this isn't just a backing band—it's a musical family born from shared respect and many late-night jams.
John's songs weave narratives with the precision of a scientist and the soul of a storyteller. Between teaching biology and producing records for artists like Cheryl Wheeler, Hannah's Whirl, and Seminole artist Rita Youngman, he's crafted a catalog that's lyrically sharp and rhythmically adventurous. These are songs with something to say, played by people who know how to listen.
