About this Event
Join us for Jewelry And The Dead, a conversation between Lauren Jennings and Jennifer Gandia, about what it means to honor the dead by wearing jewelry while living. We'll discuss inherited ancestral jewelry and what it means to continue wearing it, memorial jewelry specifically created to honor another's life, and all things adornment connecting us to those that have gone before us. Starting with a brief overview of the origins of the memento mori ranging from pre-Victorian times to the present, you'll learn about techniques such as hair work, engraving, enamel, micro mosaic, and more.
