For this special Trouble evening, we’re asking MP Jess Phillips to choose three issues that matter most to her: from the sweeping reforms that could reshape the country to the smaller changes that could quietly transform people’s everyday lives. We’ll dig into what needs fixing, what’s getting in the way and what she believes politics should actually be for.
Jess Phillips is the Labour MP for Birmingham Yardley, a seat she has represented since 2015. A former Home Office minister for safeguarding and violence against women and girls, she has spent much of her career campaigning on domestic abuse, sexual violence and women’s safety, and is the author of several books including Everywoman and Truth to Power.
