Join us as we build community over light bites, drink, live music and recognize exemplary people and preservation projects in Jersey City. As a nonprofit with an all volunteer board, this annual gala and awards ceremony helps the JCLC raise funds to support our ongoing efforts and programing.
We are celbrating 27 years and advancing our effort to Save the Powerhouse! Our 2026 event is an opportunity to forge meaningful connections and build relationships with individuals who value organizations that give back to the community. You’ll be in the company of influential community members, key stakeholders, and those who share a passion for Jersey City’s heritage.

About Us:
The JCLC was founded in 1999. We are an all volunteer, nonprofit community organization that promotes awareness and engagement to preserve historic spaces, diverse cultures, and the environmental integrity of Jersey City. We build community through advocacy, programming and tours.
Support from our sponsors and donors last year enabled us to bring more programing in 2026, including our preservation talk, From the Ground Up, new neighborhood walking tours for The Island, West Bergen and Journal Square, and our Sacred Spaces - Black Heritage Trail Bus Tour. We incorporated youth activities into our community event stations, including preservation coloring books, treasure hunts and trivia. We added these while advancing our Save the Powerhouse campaign and day-to-day initiatives to protect historic sites, and support communities in advocating to preserve the character and promote the history of their communities.
