Join a Japanese language session presented by The Japan Foundation, London, inspired by Japan House London’s exhibition Tradition/Rebellion: Coming-of-Age Style in Kitakyushu, Japan.
The introductory session covers basic Japanese expressions and is intended for those who have never studied Japanese before or who are at beginner level.
Each workshop is followed by an optional gallery tour of the Tradition/Rebellion exhibition led by Japan House London staff (approx. 15 minutes).
This event is organized by The Japan Foundation, London, with support from Japan House London.
About the instructor
Yoshimi Berrecloth is a language tutor with extensive experience in higher education. She is currently teaching Japanese at the University of Hertfordshire and at King’s College London. She loves travelling and has previously lived in multiple countries in Asia. Wherever she visits a new place, she takes an interest in the local languages and cultures. This is reflected in her approach to teaching. She is interested in inclusive practice and values an educational approach that encourages learners to develop their own interests.
There are two separate sessions on 28 November: 12:00-13:00 and 14:00-15:00.
Registration deadline: Thursday 19 November 2026
Bookings for this event are managed by The Japan Foundation, London
