Jamell Richardson is a Meridian, Mississippi native and Alabama-raised guitarist, vocalist, songwriter, producer, and entertainer known for his powerful blend of blues, soul, funk, R&B, and gospel. A musician since childhood, Jamell began performing by age 11 and later toured with Southern Soul Blues legend Mel Waiters, earning the nickname , "rdquo" -> Young Gun" and praise as a , "rdquo" -> Phenomenal Guitar Player." He has shared stages with Bobby Womack, Al Green, Bobby Bland, Lenny Williams, Shirley Brown, Denise LaSalle, Millie Jackson, and many other legendary artists. Jamell also portrayed legendary James Brown guitarist Jimmy Nolen in the film Get On Up, starring Chadwick Boseman, while serving as a guitar instructor and coach for the cast. His accomplishments include performing on the MTV Hangout Music Festival Main Stage, receiving the King of the Blues Award honoring B.B. King, and being honored with the 198th Mississippi Blues Trail Marker in Meridian. Today, Jamell continues to tour nationally and internationally, bringing an electrifying live show featuring soulful vocals, expressive guitar, Hendrix-inspired showmanship, B.B.
