Everyone is invited to our Bring-a-Buddy Home Run DerbySaturday, October 17, 2026
3:00–6:00 PM
Powderhorn Park
From 3:00–3:30 PM, Grizzlies coaches and high-school players will lead a free, optional skills clinic. Participants can practice hitting, throwing, catching, and fielding before the Home Run Derby begins at 3:30 PM.
How does the Derby work?
This is a fun hitting competition, not a regular softball game. Each participant will receive a set number of swings. Our youngest hitters may use a batting tee, while older children and adults will receive easy batting-practice pitches from a coach or approved high-school player.
Each age group will have its own marked home-run line, so participants will not need to hit the ball over the park’s regular fence. A fair ball that lands on or beyond the participant’s marked line counts as a home run. The leading hitters in each division will advance to a short final round, and there will be prizes for the winners!
All ages and experience levels are welcome—even adults! No previous softball experience is necessary.
