JACKSON, Wy – Cowgirls at The Cowboy, the nation’s only all-female country music festival, returns to Jackson Hole and the stage of the iconic Million Dollar Cowboy Bar on October 22nd, 23rd and 24th (Thursday, Friday and Saturday) for the fifth consecutive year. Nashville-based artist and Jackson Hole favorite, Jenny Tolman is once again curating the event designed to celebrate strong women in music. This year will feature a singular legend along with some of the hottest female singers and songwriters in country music today.
Headlining this year is 14-time Grammy winner and Billboard Century Award recipient, Emmylou Harris. In a stellar career spanning 40 years, Harris has recorded more than 25 albums and has lent her singer/songwriter talents to the recordings of countless fellow artists as wide ranging as Linda Rondstadt, Bob Dylan, Dolly Parton, Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson. In recognition of her remarkable career, Harris was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2008, earned a Grammy Lifetime Achievement award in 2018, and won three CMA Awards and four Americana Awards. Incredibly, her headlining appearance at Cowgirls at The Cowboy will mark her debut Jackson Hole performance.
Cowgirls will, again, kick-off on Thursday night with a Songwriter Showcase. Tolman will be joined by two immensely talented singer/songwriters. With eleven #1s to her credit and a catalogue that has shaped modern country music, Jessi Alexander is one of Nashville’s most celebrated songwriters. Her breakthrough came with Miley Cyrus’ “The Climb,” the global hit that spent 15 consecutive weeks at #1 on Billboard’s Adult Contemporary chart. Some of her other hits – for the likes of JellyRoll, Megan Moroney, Lee Brice and Blake Shelton—have earned her Song of the Year Awards from the CMA, ACM and NSAI. In 2024, she was named Female Songwriter of the Year by the National Music Publishers Association. They will be joined by Maui-born Lily Meola. After quickly emerging as a buzzy, rising force in country music with over 300 million global streams, Meola has had a breakout year that saw the release of her anticipated debut album Lucky to Be through Nettwerk Music Group. An album of smart indie-country with a discernible western flair, it earned critical acclaim from Rolling Stone, Billboard, No Depression, American Songwriter, and Country Central who raved “Lily Meola is one of the most impressive and respectable artists of the modern day…Her style, while reminiscent of legendary outlaw heroes, evolves within country music in a way that feels fresh.
Friday night will feature two breakout female artists with full bands. Tolman, who recently appeared on the Taylor Sheridan/Blake Shelton-produced CBS performance series, The Road, will make a triumphant return to the venue for her seventh consecutive year, highlighting music from her recently released album, Music City Mutt. Co-headlining and closing that night will be Music Row’s “Next Big Thing,” Mackenzie Carpenter. The 2026 ACM New Female Artist of the Year nominee continues shaping the next wave of country not only as co-writer on hits for Kenny Chesney and Megan Moroney, but also with her 2025 breakout hit “I Wish You Would” (featuring Midland), and her latest releases, “High Pony” and “Kinda Want Your Man.” Prior to her Jackson Hole debut, she’ll be touring with Riley Green and Jason Aldean.
Tickets, ranging from $35 - $500, will be sold for each night, and may be purchased online at cowboybarjh.com. On-sale date is Friday, September 11th at 10am (MT). Doors will open each night at 6:30pm, with shows beginning at 8pm. Thursday and Saturday will be fully seated, while the dance floor will be open on Friday. Must be 21+
