8:15 PM Gregg Bielski (Pittsburgh, PA)
8:45 PM Ivan & The Figments (New York City, NY)
9:15 PM Modern Fossils (Pittsburgh, PA)
Skeletonized: 7:30 PM
Skeletonized is an underground noise-jazz & post-punk band
from Pittsburgh PA. Known for chaotic, aggressive, and highly
experimental sounds featuring saxophone, heavy rhythm, and
discordant energy.
Gregg Bielski: 8:15 PM
Bielski's work carries a distinct retro-futuristic or "lunar-lander"
quality, often described as 'evoking' a sense of atmospheric or
existential dread. Bielski builds up slow eerie melodies that are
reminiscent of classic, distorted Sci-Fi Television Scores, before
devolving into intense sonic friction.
Ivan & The Figments 8:45 PM
Ivan & the Figments, are led by Ivan Nahem. In his teens and
twenties, Ivan published poetry and stories and earned a B.A.
in Lit from UC Berkeley... Drummer of the San Francisco band,
The Situations, (Proto-Punkier B-52's) and Crop, with brother
Andrew, Mark C. & Tom Paine. Crop moved to New York City
without Andrew. Ivan left Crop & formed Carnival Crash with
Norman Westberg and John Griffin. With Carnival Crash Ivan
became a vocalist & continued his song-writing. Tom & Mark
eventually became Live Skull. Ivan formed Ritual Tension with
Andrew, tightening up with Marc Sloan & Michael Shockley.
In the 80's Ritual Tension released 2 studio albums & one live
at CBGB LP, as well as a best-of called 'Past Tense', all critically
acclaimed (we have the receipts!). During this period, Ivan had
played drums for Swans on the GREED album. He then left the
music scene for several decades, finally, 'returning' with Gregg
Bielski as ex-->tension with a Spoken Word album The Kiss, in
2016. Then Ritual Tension re-formed and released the album
'It's Just The Apocalypse, It Isn't The End' in 2020. Then Ivan &
ex->tension released a "Yoga Adjacent" Post-Punk Ambient LP
CRAWLING THROUGH GRASS, in 2024. In late 2026 Ivan & the
Figments (which figmentary crew features Gregg and Andrew,
as well as Marc Sloan & various vocalists), will see the release
of 'Agonist In Love' an exploration of personal and also social
breakdown, translating into a dizzying yet coherent mixture of
rockin' musical styles.
Modern Fossils 9:15 PM
An All-Original Hard Rock band from Pittsburgh, PA. The band
has played at prominent music festivals & opened for national
acts Glenn Hughes, Lita Ford, Sponge, Anvil, Last in Line, Texas
Hippie Coalition and Josey Scott (The Original Voice of Saliva).
Modern Fossils harness the raw power and energy of the New
Wave of British Heavy Metal with dense, sonic complexity and
the shifting arrangements of vintage Progressive Rock.
