This costing and pricing workshop is all about helping researchers get the hang of budgeting for their next research grant applications. This hands-on session will break down the financial of side of research grants so you’ll walk away knowing how to put together solid and competitive cost proposals.

Please bring your laptops along as you will be asked to try your hand at putting a budget together for a variety of funders and funding types: from UKRI to EU; charity and trust models to fEC (full Economic Costing).

What to expect:

• Understand the Basics: You will gain a fundamental understanding of the costing and pricing principles relevant to research funding, including the difference between cost and price in research.
• Develop Budgets: Learn and practice how to create project budgets that align with your funder's requirements.
• Enhance Your Proposal's Competitiveness: We will discuss strategies to enhance the competitiveness of funding proposals through effective costing and pricing.
• Navigate Funding Guidelines: We'll explore how to interpret and comply with various funding bodies' sometimes complex financial guidelines and requirements.
