About this Event
Join us from 5–6 p.m. for a short, one-hour walk through Island Park in Portsmouth, Rhode Island. During the walk, participants will visit several shoreline rights-of-way and learn how these protected public access points connect the community to the coast.
Stops will include Ruth Avenue, Gould Avenue, Ivy Avenue and Teddy’s Beach. Along the way, we will discuss shoreline access, rights-of-way maintenance, vegetated buffers, stormwater erosion, hand-carried boat access and the role of the Rhode Island Coastal Resources Management Council and Rhode Island Sea Grant.
The walk will begin at the right-of-way on Ruth Avenue. Parking near the meeting location is limited, so participants should park on Park Ave. and walk to the meeting point. Please wear comfortable shoes.
Note: Rain date is October 15
