Free Motion Fabric Christmas Baubles – Creative Sewing Workshop
Get creative this Christmas and learn how to use free motion stitching to make your own unique fabric Christmas baubles.
In this friendly, hands-on workshop, you’ll work with a selection of fabrics and learn how to combine appliqué and free motion stitching to create beautiful, handmade decorations for your Christmas tree.
You’ll be guided through the process step-by-step, from choosing and preparing your fabrics to adding your own free motion stitched designs. You’ll have the opportunity to experiment with different fabrics, threads and stitching techniques, making each bauble completely unique.
You’ll leave the workshop with 2–3 handmade fabric Christmas baubles, ready to hang on your own tree or give as a unique, handmade gift.
This workshop is suitable for beginner to intermediate sewers. You don’t need to have tried free motion stitching before, but some basic experience using a sewing machine is recommended.
With small class sizes of a maximum of 8 participants, there’ll be plenty of individual support and time to ask questions throughout the workshop.
Children aged 12+ are welcome (under 16s must be accompanied by a paying adult).
What You Will Learn

- Explore how to create simple designs using free-motion embroidery
- Learn how to combine appliqué and free-motion stitching
- Experiment with different fabrics and threads
- Learn how to prepare and layer fabrics for stitching

- Pick up tips and techniques you can use for future sewing and textile projects
