About this Event

Join us for an engaging Introduction to Beekeeping course designed for beginners and aspiring beekeepers.

Tuesdays 3 March - 24 March, between 11:00-13:00

This course offers a practical overview of honeybee biology, hive structure, seasonal beekeeping tasks, and responsible hive management. Participants will gain hands-on experience at a working urban apiary while learning best practices for ethical and sustainable beekeeping.

What you’ll learn:

  • Honeybee life cycles and colony dynamics
  • Beekeeping equipment and hive setup
  • Seasonal care and hive inspections
  • Urban beekeeping considerations and bylaws
  • How beekeeping supports biodiversity and food systems

Who should attend:

No prior experience required. This course is ideal for gardeners, environmental enthusiasts, educators, and anyone interested in starting their beekeeping journey.

Location:

The course takes place at the Bee Urban Apiary, a community-focused urban beekeeping space dedicated to education, sustainability, and pollinator health.

Spaces are limited to ensure a high-quality, hands-on learning experience. Early registration is recommended.
