Introduction to Balboa with Bunny and Natalie Saturday, November 21, 2026
Learn the basics of Balboa in this dance workshop. Balboa is sometimes described as a dance of elegance, efficiency and connection. It allows two people to dance comfortably to very fast music without needing much floor space. Unlike Lindy Hop, which often features big aerial movements, kicks and energetic traveling steps, Balboa is more compact, smooth and rhythmically intricate. In simple terms: Balboa is a beautiful, close-partner swing dance where the magic comes from quick feet, subtle body movement, musicality and connection between partners.
2:30pm: Check in
Beginners- 3:00pm-4:00pm: For absolute beginners or those who need a refresher. Learn pulse, timing, and basic musicality of the style; partner connection, communication, and basic footwork.
Improvers- 4:15pm-5:00pm: For dancers who have completed the beginners class or have equivalent experience. Focus on technical refinement of form, control, timing, balance and connection working towards tighter movement with seamless transitions between Pure Bal and Bal-Swing.
Improvers+ -5:15pm- 6:00pm: For more intermediate dancers who want to expand their repertoire by incorporating ad-libs, texture, musicality, and variations to their dance foundations.
Social Dancing- 6:00pm- 7:00pm: Time to practice and build relationships with other dancers! Welcome to all dance levels. Included free with your ticket purchase.
Lesson Prices:
1 class: $10/person
2 classes: $15/person
3 classes: $25
