About this Event
This class is the first step in using our Eastwood Elite 4'x4' CNC Plasma Table, covering the fundamentals of operation and setup for producing clean, precise cuts of parts and pieces. Whether you're brand new to CNC machinery or just new to plasma cutting, this course will give you the confidence to work with the machine safely and effectively.
Attendees will learn how to make cuts and configure the machine for varying material thicknesses, as well as understand how different materials may affect cut quality and speed. We will navigate through the menu options to ensure proper setup and use, including key settings you'll return to every time you run a job. By the end of the course, you will be able to make cuts using pre-loaded shapes from the machine's system library, setting you up with the foundational skills needed to take on more advanced projects down the road.
As part of this course, you'll learn:
- Machine Operation - Powering on, homing, project setup
- Pre-programmed Shape Cutting
- Navigating the control panel
- Safety considerations for this cutting process
I have a background in Structural Engineering but have enjoyed tinkering with small projects and accomplishing larger DIY home projects. Most of my knowledge is self taught and practiced over time while learning new methods of how to get things done. My other interest include mountain biking, hiking, and exploring the country with my wife and dogs.
