About this Event
Learn how to turn a digital idea into a real, physical object using the Makerspace’s 3D printers! In this hands-on class, you’ll get an overview of the full 3D printing workflow—from creating a 3D model to printing it on our machines.
We’ll cover the basics of designing objects using TinkerCAD or Fusion 360, preparing files for printing, and operating our 3D printers. This introductory class designed to give prospective and current members the confidence to get started with 3D printing at the Makerspace.
Participants are encouraged to familiarize themselves with their chosen modeling software ahead of time so they can follow along and ask questions.
Software options:
- TinkerCAD – Free, browser-based, and beginner-friendly; great for simple designs.
- Fusion 360 – More powerful software for advanced and professional modeling.
There will be dedicated time for Q&A, including discussion of project ideas, print troubleshooting, and tips for working with the machines.
