Chelmsford Amateur Operatic & Dramatic Society proudly present their production of Into The Woods. What happens after happily ever after?
Step into the woods, where familiar fairy tales collide and wishes come with unexpected consequences. Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine weave together the stories of Cinderella, Jack and the Beanstalk, Little Red Riding Hood and more in this spellbinding, Tony Award-winning musical.
At the heart of the story are a Baker and his wife, desperate to start a family but held back by a Witch’s curse. To break it, they must journey deep into the woods in search of four mysterious objects. Along the way, their path crosses with princes, giants, witches and some very familiar storybook characters – all chasing wishes of their own.
But when everyone gets exactly what they wished for, they soon discover that “happily ever after” isn’t always the end of the story. Darkly funny, moving and packed with Sondheim’s unforgettable music, Into the Woods is a magical tale about choices, consequences, family and the importance of the people we meet along the way.
Be careful what you wish for…
