Saturday /14.00 - 16.00 / The Art of Close Embrace invites us into one of the most intimate forms of partner dancing. We'll explore how to build comfort, trust and closeness — grounded always in clear communication and consent — and practice the subtle language of it: micro-movements, belly leading, slow drag, the quiet art of sharing weight while listening to each other, the music, and our own bodies.
Sunday /14.00 - 16.00/ The Art of Sensing the Blues asks a simple question: what really creates intimacy in a dance — closeness, or the quality of attention we offer? Inspired by Blind Blues, we'll use blindfolds in some exercises to sharpen our feel for rhythm, weight and breath, then dance with eyes open to discover that connection doesn't depend on constant touch. Less, it turns out, can be so much more.
YOUR TEACHERS
Frida — Friederike Reif is a dance researcher and educator who has explored 20+ partner dances since 1997. Her work focuses on mindful and diversity-sensitive Blues and Fusion education, recognised with the 2026 German Dance Research Award (gtf). Her projects "Dancing in the Dark" and "SlowSteps two-gether" rethink partner dance through the experiences of dancers with visual impairments or fatigue/Post-Covid.
Paul — With over 17 years on the dance floor, Paul's approach centers on genuine connection, playfulness, and shared musicality. His teaching draws on his background in Lindy Hop and Blues, plus some Fusion, Tango, Contact Improv, and more.
