Get ready for a unique in-person experience where East meets West through the magic of music! is bringing together vocalists and instrumentalists from around the world to explore relationships among African, Indian, Jamaican, and Venezuelan cultural styles and the fusion of Soul/R&B, Jazz, and Hip Hop.
Join us at the Market Stage, Crossroads Bellevue, for exciting short performances by cross-cultural artists and a chance to hear about their experiences with blending musical styles of the East and West. Their artist credits include work with Black-Eyed Peas, Sly & Robbie, Waka Flocka, Tech N9ne, Amayenge, Kanda Bongo Man, F-Rock Crew, Staxx Brothers, Global Heat, Roger Fisher & the Human Tribe, and lots more.
Featured artists will include:
- Anil Prasad (India) Tabla drum master – classical Indian, Hip Hop, and Bollywood styles.
- B-boy Fidget (USA) MC, b-boy, producer – global Hip Hop culture, Soul/R&B, and cross-generational collaboration.
- Davin Michael Stedman (Puerto Rico) vocalist, guitarist, songwriter, producer – Soul, Hip Hop, Rock, and the African music diaspora through Jamaica, Cuba, and Puerto Rico.
- Jesus Hernandez (Venezuela) drummer – Jazz, Soul/R&B, Blues, traditional rhythms of Venezuela.
- Kader Sunny (Algeria/France) guitarist, songwriter, vocalist – Saharan Desert Blues, African rhythms meet the funky Chicago Blues and lyrics in Arabic.
- Marvin Shields Jr (USA) vocalist, bassist, guitarist, songwriter – Soul/R&B, Funk, Hip Hop, Rock and cross-cultural collaboration.
- Moye Kashimbi (Zambia) vocals, dance, songwriter – Zambian traditional culture and music forms, fusion with Funk and Jazz, and Afro-Pop.
