About this Event
Celebrate the legacy of the Theodore M. Berry International Friendship Park at the 4th annual International Friendship Day. This free event takes place outdoors around the Pavilion, which features original ceramic art tile made especially for the park.
Non-stop international entertainment
Asian Lion Dancers open the day. After that, you'll see the Cincinnati-Dayton Japanese Taiko Drums, "Baja" Hispanic Dancers, Ukrainian Dancers, the German "Polka Warriors," salsa dancing, and Caribbean steel drums, plus more.
Cultural booths from around the world
Stop by interactive booths from Cincinnati's Sister Cities in China, France, Germany, Japan, Taiwan, Ukraine, and Zimbabwe. The Dayton Sister Cities will be there too, along with friends from Bulgaria, Bhutan/Nepal, and Italy.
Art, community, and fun for kids
The Pavilion will display international student art, including work by students from Ukraine. Meet FC Cincinnati's Street Team and Gary, the Knifey Lion. Explore the world of art at the CAM Cruiser from the Cincinnati Art Museum, and visit Activities Beyond the Classroom (ABC), the Cincinnati Public Library, and CET Public Television.
Food and treats
Kungfusion is this year's savory food truck, joined by a second truck serving drinks and desserts. Bring your lunch into the Pavilion and enjoy it among the student artwork. You can also take home Japanese baked goods from Chiz's Bakery.
About the park
International Friendship Park opened in 2003 and is named for Theodore M. Berry, Cincinnati's first African American mayor. It grew out of the city's friendships with its Sister Cities, and its mosaics, sculptures, gardens, and buildings were created by and in honor of them.
