About this Event
Join us on Wednesday 25 November 2026 from 10:30am to 12:30pm at Sefton Park Palm House for a morning of performance, creativity, reflection and practical tools, exploring how we can turn awareness into meaningful change.
Every year, 4Wings, Sefton Park Palm House and Movema come together to observe the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. This annual event marks the fourth year of this collaboration, bringing our communities together to reflect, connect and strengthen our collective commitment to ending violence against women and girls.
At the heart of this year’s programme is ‘Be Your Sister’s Keeper’, a new performance created by 4Wings. Four women take us on a journey from pain, silence and isolation towards connection, solidarity and reclaiming their voice: from “I am alone” to “I see you, I hear you, and you are not alone.” The performance explores how we respond to one another: seeing, listening, supporting and standing beside another woman when she needs it.
We will also launch a draft of our Toolkit, which offers guidance on where women experiencing abuse can find support, the role communities can play, and ways we can respond when someone needs help. Developed with survivors and centring their experiences, the Toolkit brings together practical information and ideas, including where to turn for help and ways we can work alongside survivors. There will be an opportunity to have a first look, ask questions and share your thoughts to help inform the final version.
Come along for a morning of connection, creativity and collective action.
