One of the fundamental utensils in any type of cooking whether it is in the home, on a camping trip or deep in the heart of the woodland is a good spoon, helping to blend tasty ingredients together to release their delicious flavours, in the meals you serve.Nothing will enhance that experience more than learning how to produce your very own spoon from a sustainably sourced green billet of wood.
Our highly experienced instructors will teach you the skills in understanding safe wood selection, sustainable harvesting, safe tool use, fundamental knife grips, and the processing of wood fibres. We'll look at some more advanced techniques to achieve some different results easily, as well as adding some artistic flair.
You'll never buy a spoon again!
All tools and materials to take part in the workshop are provided.
This course is for over 16's although under 18's must be accompanied by an adult, only paid places will have resources allocated to them to participate in the workshop. Workshops are held at our World Of Bushcraft Centre in the Peak District, where free tea and coffee will be available.
