The weekly Sunday vigil continues, still at Payne Park, now from 5-6pm. Yes, it's hot, but our neighbors in detention camps are suffering much worse circumstances. We gather in solidarity with those who have been detained and deported. Many attendees bring a camping chair. With the sun, you may want to wear a hat or bring an umbrella. While this isn't a demonstration or protest, some people bring signs with messages of compassion, human rights, and solidarity with immigrant communities.
We always collect donations at the weekly vigil. Your generosity and support are truly lifelines for local families in need!
All are welcome to the Sunday vigils. They are interfaith and inclusive. Even if you don't consider yourself religious, we believe you will find comfort in the words and the community setting of this gathering.
