Join us for an evening of interfaith learning, dialogue, and community connection centered on our shared humanity.
The program will feature speakers representing diverse faith traditions who will offer reflections on interfaith engagement, dialogue, peacebuilding, and the values that call us to understand and care for one another across differences. Together, we will listen, learn, and explore how faith communities and neighbors can help build a more connected, compassionate, and peaceful society.
The evening will conclude with a special fig tree planting as a living symbol of shared roots, growing relationships, hope, and peace.
A Living Legacy of Peace
The young fig being planted comes from a cutting of the “Big Fig,” rooted in San Antonio’s interfaith peace story. Its story reaches back to an interfaith gathering held shortly after September 11, 2001, when people of many faiths came together in a time of fear and uncertainty to choose peace.
Through the San Antonio Peace Center and its Peace Laureates, cuttings from the Big Fig are being planted across the community as living reminders of our shared commitment to peace, healing, and bridge-building. As a San Antonio Peace Laureate, Raindrop Foundation is honored to continue this legacy by planting one of these young fig trees.
People of all faith traditions, as well as those who do not identify with a particular faith tradition, are warmly welcome.
