About this Event
InfraTech 2026 will be a focused industry convening examining how the United States can better plan, finance, approve and deliver major infrastructure projects. InfraTech 2026 will be the marquee event in establishing Cornell University as the world’s leading academic center for infrastructure technology research, teaching, public engagement and outreach.
Infrastructure decisions remain fragmented across owners, regulators, investors, utilities, consultants, contractors and communities. Although promising new technologies can improve planning and execution, technology alone cannot overcome misaligned incentives, institutional risk, regulatory uncertainty and disconnected delivery systems. InfraTech 2026 will examine how these barriers can be addressed through more integrated approaches to infrastructure decision-making and delivery.
Session Themes and Guiding Questions
- How can the United States expand generation, transmission and grid capacity quickly enough to support new industrial and digital demand without compromising reliability, affordability or regional development?
- How can AI-enabled planning, digital twins and shared data make infrastructure siting faster, more transparent and more defensible?
- How are robotics, automation and digital delivery reshaping EPC execution, and what will it take to deploy these technologies at scale?
- What makes an infrastructure innovation investable, and who bears the risk of moving from pilot projects to scaled deployment?
