Learn to build a simple vermicompost system that can be kept under your kitchen sink or on the balcony. Participants will learn about soil health, tips for a successful worm bin maintenance and about worm compost tea. Participants will also come away with an immediately usable composting system and the know-how to do it again or teach someone else. Vermicompost materials will be provided for each participant.
Zawadi Farm will be running the session in partnership with the City of Mississauga. Zawadi Farm is a regenerative urban farm based in Toronto's Downsview Park dedicated to growing food, community, and dignity through sustainable agriculture. The farm combines no-till regenerative farming with hands-on education, helping people build stronger connections to healthy soil, local food systems, and environmental stewardship through engaging community workshops and training programs.
