About this Event
This inaugural lecture traces the unexpected paths that have shaped Professor Hayden McRobbie’s career in behaviour change and public health. His work began in smoking cessation research and clinical practice, leading to contributions to the development of UK Stop Smoking Services, the implementation of brief tobacco cessation interventions in health care settings, and later work in tobacco and e cigarette policy and regulation.
COVID 19 provided further important lessons in systems, communication, and the realities of public health in crisis. More recently, his work has extended into other risk factors for non-communicable disease, with a continued focus on reducing health inequalities.
Together, these experiences highlight how practical, scalable interventions that are grounded in science and delivered at scale can shape population health impact in often unexpected ways.
Please note there will be drinks following Prof. Hayden's lecture in The Shield.
