Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen,The Defence Shed had its monthly committee meeting on Tuesday night. We discussed a range of topics including The AWM event, membership and the inaugural BBQ that we would like to hold.
We have spoken with the Royal Hotel in Bungendore, and they are very keen in supporting us where they can. So, we have locked in the 7th of November at 1300 h in the back beer garden of the Royal Hotel. We will provide a basic BBQ of sausages and steak rolls. Drinks can be purchased from the Royal Hotel. You can also purchase their normal bar meals there if you feel so inclined.
We will be going live with our membership soon. We are just dotting "I"s and crossing "T"s. Membership will be set at $40 per financial year for members. To be a friend of the shed all that is required is a donation of your choosing. Bank account details will be included on the membership form.
We are arranging gold (coloured) coins with member numbers engraved for all founding members of the shed. That is those that have filled in the EOI, link below. After that all other members will receive the same coin but silver (coloured) with their number engraved. The numbers will be allocated in the order that membership is applied and paid for. The first 10 are reserved for the current committee. We will have 1- 100 for gold and any that are not allocated for founding members will be held and presented to people that provided significant support to the shed. The silver ones will start at 101 and go up from there.
Attached to the membership form will be our code of conduct. All members must read and abide by this code to remain a member of the shed. Its not arduous just don't do dumb s@&t when representing the shed.
Once the minutes of Tuesday nights meeting are written and reviewed by the committee I will email them out to all those on the EOI list.
Don't forget we will be at the AWM on Firday the 16th of OCtober. If you can pop in and say hi.
We have also been working with the Veteran Services Support in Page with a view of working together to support all our veterans, first responders and corrections members.

I will create an event for the BBQ. It would be fantastic if you could indicate if you are attending to help us sort out numbers. Thank you
