When Helena Blavatsky met Colonel Henry Steel Olcott in Vermont in 1874, their contrasting approaches - her knowledge of ancient spiritual wisdom and his commitment to evidence, ethics and social responsibility sparked a shared quest to explore the mysteries of existence. Their meeting laid the foundations for the Theosophical Society, bringing together the study of religion, philosophy and science in a search for deeper truths about humanity and the universe.
Wendy Dixon has been a member of the Theosophical Society for over 54 years, having attended its youth group for four years before joining at age 16, and continues to draw on the works of Blavatsky, Hodson, Krishnamurti, Leadbeater, Taimni, Besant and the Dalai Lama in her lifelong studies. A former international soprano soloist and tertiary academic lecturer, Wendy is now a National Lecturer and National Secretary of the Australian Section of the Theosophical Society.
Tea, Coffee and Conversation to follow!
