In Recital: The Curious Case of Benjamin Britten
Katie Kirkpatrick, soprano
William Salinas-Crosby, tenor
Joel Goodfellow, piano
The Curious Case of Benjamin Britten is an intimate exploration of the life, songs, and influence of Sir Benjamin Britten (1913–1976); the composer who reinvigorated musical life in England and solidified its place among the most influential artistic movements in Europe.
This recital brings together songs and duets by Britten and his contemporaries, alongside works by composers who inspired him, and those whose music carries the imprint of his legacy.
Join us Sunday, November 22, at 7:30 PM at the Canadian Music Centre to celebrate Britten’s 113th birthday and commemorate the 50th anniversary year of his death through the music of this twentieth-century master.
