About this Event
Are you navigating two different worlds but never quite feeling like you fully belong in either?
Whether you are 19, 21, or 24, life at this stage feels like one massive transition. Maybe it’s the way you code-switch the moment you walk through your front door, or how you carry family expectations on one shoulder while balancing your own dreams on the other. From navigating university and first jobs to shifting friendships and the complex "dating talk," this is a season of unlearning who you should be so you can discover who you actually want to be.
The weight of these "in-between" spaces often takes a silent toll on your mental health. Constantly balancing who you are with who you are expected to be can lead to a deep sense of isolation, anxiety, or the feeling that you are disappearing under the pressure to perform.
If you’ve ever felt "in-between," there is a seat at the table for you.
This isn’t just a conversation; it is a 5-week therapeutic group designed to move you from "performing" to "belonging." This is a dedicated space for young South Asian women to navigate identity, relationships, and the complexity of growing into themselves. Here, you don’t have to explain your experience—you can just be understood.
Facilitated by our Student Therapist in training and supervised by Cajaani Velautham, MSW, RSW, this group combines community connection with evidence-based tools.
What we will explore together:
- Healthy Relationships: Understanding how attachment, communication, and boundaries can impact your mental health and well being
- Sense of Self: Strengthening confidence and independent decision-making to build internal resilience.
- Identity & Culture: Navigating impacts of emotions, friendships, dating, and cultural & societal expectations on your mental health.
What you will gain:

- Capacity Building: evidence-based skills for emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and building self-confidence needed to navigate life's transitions
