IMPRO Amsterdam is one of the world's largest improvised theatre festivals. This year for our 30th anniversary we've got 30 shows from top international performers that demonstrate that impro (also called improv) isn't just funny - it can be so much more.
IMPRO Amsterdam Night 5: IMPRO is... Connected
In order to create theatre without a script our performers have to be intensely connected with each other on stage. On our fifth night we're featuring three very different performances showcase this interpersonal connection and tell stories about our connections between each other our world and ourselves.
One ticket (€25 or €250 with Stadspas) gets you access to the two mainstage shows and for €3 extra you can come to our late-night special!
- 19:45-20:45 - Secret Garden (La Compagnie qui Pétille France)
For fans of: Grounded love stories · Realistic couples · The ethics of honesty
“The secret of happiness in a couple is not to be blind. It is to close your eyes at the right time” Simone Signoret (French actress). Should we always tell the truth? Secret Garden is an improvised play about love - real grounded flawed but worth fighting for.
- 21:15-22:15 - Butterflies (directed by Hazel Ho Singapore)
For fans of: Serendipity · Unlikely connections · Quantum physics (but not really)
“The flapping of the wings of a butterfly can be felt on the other side of the world.”
Our lives might all intersect in one way or another whether we’re aware of it or not. The choices we make (or don’t) can inadvertently set off the unlikeliest of consequences and pave the way down the line for the most serendipitous of connections.
- 22:30-23:00 - The Witches Present... The Slumber Party (The Witches of Amsterdam USA)
For fans of: Reliving your tween years · Female friendship · Showing off your dope Hello Kitty pencil case
You’re invited to our Slumber Party and you TOTALLY have to come! Confessions advice stories and flashbacks are discovered live with the audience in this fast-paced sometimes silly sometimes raw character-driven romp. Explore the hilarity found in the awkward discovery of who we are and how we fit into the larger world.
