About this Event

Philadelphia runs on sports. On May 27, we’re bringing that energy to The Welcoming Center with Moro Ojomo.

A defensive tackle for the Philadelphia Eagles, proud Nigerian immigrant, and of course, a Super Bowl champion, Moro not only brings incredible talent and heart to a game that is embedded in our city’s culture, but also reminds us “it doesn’t matter where you’re born, as long as you’re born to play."

We’re excited to invite you to a conversation about his journey, how his roots shape who he is, and what it means to represent his team and his story in a city like Philadelphia.

You’ll get to enjoy great food, connect with community, and meet Moro Ojomo right here at TWC.

About Moro Ojomo
Originally a seventh-round draft pick out of the University of Texas in 2023, Moro Ojomo has emerged as a stout force on the Eagles defensive line. In just his second year, he helped the franchise secure its second Lombardi Trophy as a member of Philadelphia’s Super Bowl LIX-winning roster.

Born in Lagos, Nigeria, Ojomo emigrated to Santa Clarita, CA, with his family when he was eight. While in Nigeria, he began kindergarten at just three years old and remained on that advanced educational path after moving to the United States, enrolling at the University of Texas at 16.

As a Longhorn, Ojomo was an eight-time Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll member, a four-time first-team Academic All-Big 12 honoree, and a two-time All-Big 12 selection. He served on the student-athlete advisory committee for three years to address and advocate for student-athletes and the issues they face.
